The Story of Esther...

“Remember who you are. Who knows but that you
were born for such a time as this.”
Esther 4:14

Esther was a beautiful woman who knew
loneliness and suffering. When faced with a
major crisis in her life, she remembered the
strong women who had gone before her.
For three days, she struggled alone in the depths
of her spirit. There she came face to face with a
power greater than herself that gave her courage
and direction. She felt her fear and at the same
time became aware of her strength and her
freedom to decide.

Esther was a woman who let herself be challenged
to move beyond where she was
to where she could be

The Nothing Cup was held on September 13, 2013.  This is a golf tournament put together by a group of friends for the purpose of enjoying a round of golf, a good dinner and raising money for charity.  For the fourth year Esther House has been one of the recipients of the funds raised by the Nothing Cup.  This year we received $4,300 and the cumulative total over the 4 years is $14,350!  We wish to thank the organizers Karl Loepp, John Heimbecker, and Michael Evans as well as all those who took part.  We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity.

Tennis For Charity Tournament is a women’s tennis tournament held every year for the past 16 years in support of local charities.  Esther House was the beneficiary of the 2013 tournament held Sept 10-12, 2013 at Taylor Tennis and The Winnipeg Winter Club.  The tournament concludes with a luncheon and silent auction at the Winter Club.  This amazing group raised $14,500 this year! To say the board of Esther House was blown away by this amount would be an understatement.  The support shown by the women organizing and participating in the tournament as well as all the sponsors and auction donors is humbling.  We would like to thank the 2013 Tennis For Charity Tournament Committee: Sue Loewen, Greta Wood, Darlene Lee, Donna Collins, and Patti Lacey.  The sponsors of this tournament were:
